Folic acid is a derivative of pteridine, originally isolated from the liver and later found to be abundant in the green leaves of plants, hence the name folic acid. It is widely found in meat, fresh fruits, vegetables, yellow crystalline powder, tasteless and odorless, its sodium salt soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol and ether and other organic solvents, insoluble in cold water but slightly soluble in hot water. Unstable in acidic solutions and easily destroyed by light. Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin with the formula C19H19N7O6. It is named for its rich content in green leaves, also known as pteroylglutamic acid. There are several forms in nature, and its parent compound is a combination of pteridine, p-aminobenzoic acid and glutamic acid.
Usage:
Affect animal reproductive performance; Affect the secretion of animal pancreas; Promote the growth of animals; Improve body immunity The increase of plasma homocysteine concentration can lead to thrombotic obliterated heart and cerebrovascular diseases, anorexia and anorexia nervosa, senile vascular dementia, depression and other diseases. Folic acid may reduce the risk of gout in people who have no history of gout. Folic acid deficiency can cause damage to many systems in the body, mainly in the digestive system, colitis, chronic atrophic gastritis, and increase the risk of colon and stomach cancer. Folic acid supplements can inhibit the recurrence rate of colorectal cancer.
