Melamine

Description:

Melamine,  molecular formula is C3H6N6,used as a chemical raw material. Non-combustible and stable at room temperature. The aqueous solution is weakly alkaline (pH=8).It is a white monoclinic crystal, almost odorless, harmful to the body, and cannot be used in food processing or food additives.

Usage: 

Melamine is an important nitrogen heterocyclic organic chemical raw material, mainly used as the main raw material of melamine formaldehyde resin, organic element analysis reagent, also used in the synthesis of organic and resin for leather processing tanning agent and filler, but also used in wood, plastic, paint, paper, textile, leather, electrical, medicine and other industries. It can also be used as flame retardant, formaldehyde cleaning agent, chemical fertilizer and so on.

Melamine is the most commonly used gas source of intumescent flame retardants, and is also the raw material for the preparation of many intumescent flame retardants (such as a variety of phosphates, cyanates, phosphates), and is often combined with other flame retardants for flame retarding a variety of plastics and other polymers, such as organic phosphate esters to flame retardant polyurethane foam.
